I haven't been on here too long but just from the few weeks I spent lurking and the info he's shared with the forum I'd have to say: Billy-the-ex bethelite.

One time when I was 13, I was walking through an Albertson's after school with my back pack on. The store manager started following me around watching what I was doing and after a few aisles worth of being my shadow he rudely asked what was in my pack? I let him know my school books but he didn't buy it, he said he needed to check it because he knew what "you people are really like."
I've never hated other races but that day I definitely hated that douche.
p.s. he was white and I'm Latino.

I have found a girlfriend, but there is something I've been hiding from her
by ronweasley inall is well and good in my life right now :) with one small catch... i have a secret that i have hidden from my girlfriend.. for the first time since coming out of the borg, i have found romance.
i was lucky to meet a girl called romilda (name has been changed), and we get on like a house in fire.
we have been in a relationship for a few days now, but some of my friends have pointed out that i should be honest with her and be straight about my sexuallity.

Hi ronweasley, I would be straight up- honest with her if you really do care about her. If she is special to you never hide anything from her as she'll distrust you down the road when she finds out. I'm not sure how you can tell her, maybe have her over to your place for drinks- something casual and give her the info.
Best wishes,

What piece of WT literature is worth holding onto, or have you kept? Why?
by losingit ini have basically thrown away all of my bound volumes and loose wt and awake magazines.
i kept some bpoks, the insight to the scriptures, god's love, the reasoning book, and daniel's prophecies (this was my favorite) .
i held onto insight to the scriptures after reading some of ray franz's book, crisis of conscience.

Why do witnesses listen to their GB
by speargrass55 inhello everyone, i want us to discuss the gbs right to control jws.
the gb claim, and rf jws believe that they can't understand the bible without help from the gb.
when you ask them why they listen to the gb you hear stuff like .

The way I had understood this situation was that they were guided by Jehovah's spirit and were directed to act in accordance with it. Supposedly their prayers and their study of the scriptures were what helped them to make decisions for the organization.
As far as why the JW's listen, well first because they feel that their religion has been blessed with a special relationship with the Creator and second because if you believe a group of men have a hotline to God why question it? Is this the prudent course of action?
No, of course not and inevitably many of us have left because we could not comprehend how an organization that claimed to be guided by God's spirit acts and believes in things that are in direct contradiction with it.

Hi TRUJW, although we all enjoy our daily dose of humor I would recommend avoiding a situation like that. Why put yourself up for something that starts fun and ends in a major headache?

exJW Psychology 101--Keeping Your Cool While Fading
by Billy the Ex-Bethelite inin an effort to get some help and hopefully help others, i'd like to start this thread about psychology, specifically starting with the subject of anger management.. .
personally, i don't have much of a temper.
what i do have, i've learned to control.

Awesome post Billy! Really liked this part: "Even though I am tempted to rant and rave in anger over WT policies, teaching, and practices, I avoid the impression of anger toward WT, it's much more about frustration, I suppose."
You're completely right, being angry and yelling will only serve to close the other persons mind to whatever it was you wanted to say.

Did you ridicule apostates for attacking the Org. and not Bible doctrine?.
by Wasanelder Once inwhen i was a busy little pie-in-ear we had a local apostate who would come and pretend to be interested.
he always attacked russell and rutherford and the early organization.
(this was in the late 80's early 90's) after he left, the young brother with me said, "these apostates always attack the imperfect organization but never can show anything from the bible.

Sure, maybe not ridicule as much as immediately dismiss anything I considered to oppose the truth. I remember one of the first talks I gave in the TMS talked about apostates but back then I didn't really understand why they chose to leave or disagree with certain things. It's funny to think how robotic my responses used to be, one time at a convention I was warned to not even look at them.
I guess looking at someone who might actually be right might make my brain start working and researching. We wouldn't want that now, would we?
